Chicken soup nights are a little different around here. We start by crock pot cooking the chicken for 24 hours. (you can boil it on the stove for a quicker meal) Then we add the veggies and start the noodles. Today we decided to make the noodles into shapes instead of your average square ones. We started out with dinosaurs and then added hearts. The kids are having a ball playing in the left over dough and flower. I wish I had pics but my camera has no batteries. I will leave you with the recipe though. This is a recipe that me and my family have made up and adjusted over the last 14 years. (I have never shared my chicken noodle recipe with anyone before.)
chicken ~ how much depends on how thick you want your soup ~ I use about 2-3 lbs.
(I use boneless thighs and or breast)
cook in crock pot with your favorite chicken seasonings.
(I use Mc Cormick Cajun , coarse sea salt, black pepper 1 large vadalia onion ~ chopped and 2 cloves of garlic ~ chopped)
Noodles (I usually make one and a half batches)
3 cups flour
4 eggs
2/3 cup milk
mix together turn out on floured surface and roll to 1/8 inch thick.
you may need to knead the dough if it is still sticky
remove chicken from crock pot and shred
pour broth into a 5 qt pan and bring to a boil (add shredded veggies now if you want any)
drop noodles in one at a time
stir often and add chicken when they are done
I usually let mine boil for 20 min.
Enjoy
